The gorgeous Dune Villa in Utrecht, The Netherlands

Called the Dune Villa, this gorgeous relaxing heaven is known as one of the most imposing works of the architectural team at HILBERINKBOSCH Architects.
Eye-catching and glamorous, the Dune Villa attracts many guests thanks to its “dense vegetation towards the street, a large open space at the front and an open pine forest at the back of the plot”. The villa presents an imposing complex of many different volumes which are all inviting and glorious.

Aiming at offering guests magnificent views towards the forest, the architects placed the main areas of the home such as the living room, kitchen, office, master bedroom, roof terrace and library in the first floor.

Meanwhile, the guestrooms and an outdoor pool occupy the dune and the ground level of the courtyard. The pool is enclosed on three sides with generous glass sliding doors.

According to the architects, “the classical façade structures of workmen’s and bourgeois houses in the district were reinterpreted and the new resulting surface was covered with the modern HI-MACS® material, designed to inspire a contemporary look.” Stylish, bright and intriguing, the Ice Loft is truly the focal point of the district.

The striking Head Road 1816 residence in South Africa presenting powerful indoor-outdoor connection

Called the Head Road 1816, this striking residence designed and implemented by SAOTA – Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects is placed in the beautiful Fresnaye neighborhood of Cape Town, the second-most populous city in South Africa. Presenting a powerful indoor-outdoor connection, the Head Road 1816 residence especially envisioned for a growing family boasts an open and spacious living zone including a charming seating area, an inviting dinning space and a convenient kitchen. Moreover, the home consists of four cozy bedrooms and functional bathrooms.

“The language of the house reflects bold contemporary lines and extended planes, but the introduction of timber has softened and blurred this distinction. Screening elements ensuring privacy have become an integral component of the aesthetic.

The juxtaposition of solid mass to large expanses of transparency is transitioned with semi-transparent slatted screens and shutters.

The architectural language takes its cues from a Spanish approach to simple cubic volumes with punctured openings and planar walls that open up to create generous ocean views”, explained the architects.
